Cool Features about the VPA Website

There are a lot of new folks here and I thought I might share a few of my favorite things about this website...

Cauliflower Harvest February 2013

I had a good amount of cauliflower this season, which was great because my favorite dishes on a cold evening are Aloo Gobi and Navratan Korma, both of which were made stellar due to the addition of beautiful organic home-grown cauliflower. In retrospect, I could have roasted the cauliflower and persevered its beauty, but nothing tastes better to me than hot'n'spicy 'Ruby Murry'.

An interesting find in regard to growing cauliflower, is you must 'blanch' the heads- that is,…

The beginnings

This is my first attempt at trying to grow things. I decided to go with these self watering buckets(I guess they are called that because you have to water them yourself) to begin with because I can get a bunch of free buckets and I have a yard full of rabbits. I started off trying to grow seeds in those little black trays with the pellets but I found them a pain to get the little plants out of and cost too much,so I switched to plastic cups. pics from Tour de Coop?

I live quite a distance from Phoenix - in Needles, CA. As a result, I couldn't make it to the recent Tour de Coop, but so wanted to see the lovely Chicken coops and gain some inspiration. Did anyone take pics? Can they be uploaded on this site? I'd love to see some of them. :)
