Trevor Ray replied to Catherine, The Herb Lady's discussion November Planting Tips 2015 - Re-Share
"Thanks for posting Catherine. I've got a question about the debris moved away from plants.  We're trying to keep our soil covered so it stays a rich, living soil with lots of micro-organisms.   Is this a choice we'd need to…"

"BTW... thanks for this heads up.  I went last year and until you had mentioned it here I wasn't even aware of it. I got some great pomeranate varieties, figs.. and a few other things like passion fruit vine,   Now I'm going to…"

Trevor Ray replied to Tim Nacke's discussion Irrigation in the group Micro Livestock
"I agree with Aedan. Our chickens love the free ranging. On irrigated lots the grass roots are typically pretty deep and would take a LOTof chickens before they could mess up the grass. Just make sure they have a dry area they can retreat to."

Trevor Ray replied to Thomas W's discussion Need help identifying tree / bush / etc. ?
"I'm pretty sure I have this same tree in my yard-  a Hong Kong Orchid or  "Bauhinia blakeana".   I'm on a big irrigated lot too, and it has grown well.  This last season it had a ton of flowers and pods and…"

"Cow Peas, Armenian Cucumber, and Sweet Potatoe are things that I've found really thrive in the heat. My neighbor has a huge stalk of armenian cucumber growing off her front porch, and it's thriving.  Yard-long beans (aka asparagus…"

Trevor Ray replied to Stephanie's discussion Name this plant

Trevor Ray replied to Victoria Perkins's discussion Any idea what is wrong with my Eggplant?
"We loved the Japanese variety-  they seemed more prolific and easy to use.  We usually picked them when pushing the flesh just below the stem will "give a little" when we pushed it with our thumb.  Experiment with how much…"
