What is a good fertilizer for mesquite?

An arborist said I needed to fertilze my mature mesquite tree because it is oozing black sap. I don't want to pay him $100.00 so can anyone recommend a good fertilizer for mesquite? Thanks.

"Hi Randy although I can't take them all, I would be delighted if you'd let me take a few of them off of your hands? Thanks!"

"Could be Slim Flux. Pulled from the U of A Publications: Slime flux is caused by the infection of sapwood by several bacteria and is a problem with mature mesquites. The disease causing microorganisms are found in the soil and probably gain entry…"

"Andrew and Matthew are correct.  Black sap is not a good thing, and native species do not normally need fertilizing.  As a shrub, the mesquite can be pruned and possibly saved, but find an arborist who really knows native trees."

"You may want to get a second opinion from another arborist.  Black sap is a sign of a bacterial infection.   Mesquites are legumes and generally don't require fertilizer.  If your tree is already stressed from a bacterial…"

Agave and Aloe Vera give away

Looking to give away several dozen agave and aloe vera plants. Moving out of state and can't take them with me. Plants are all in containers and range in size from 4" to 24" in height. Please respond if you know of an organization that could use a lot of plants for a landscaping project or perhaps a school that wants to give small agave plants to children to plant at home.
