"Hi Nancy, Do you compost your grounds?  If so, do you include the paper filters and about how long does it take for them to break down? Thanks, HL"

Coffee Grounds

After one year, 3 days a week, I'm still at it. I pick up 5-gallon buckets of coffee grounds and tea leaves from two local shops. I NEED TO SHARE -- ARE YOU MY NEXT BEST COFFEE-GROUND FRIEND? I may have worn out my welcome with some of my old friends. Let me know at nanmar@cox.net. Let's keep the recycling going. Coffee to me, me to you, you to ground, ground to growth, veggies to mouth -- a very good cycle.See More

NITROGEN RICH COFFEE GROUNDS AVAILABLE

I collect about 15 gallons of notrogen-rich coffee grounds weekly from local coffee houses. I have used a LOT in my garden: want to keep up the recycling for them and share with you who can use some of it, preferable on a regular basis. It seems to give the soil texture and nutrients, acidity to alkaline soil.I have about 6 bags of pecan leaves to share as well.If you are close to 40th St. & Camelback, I may be able to deliver. Get in touch!Call me at (602) 248-7810 or e- at…See More

Hey Nancy! How have you been? Are you still out there making the valley's soil better one bucket at a time? =)

I plan to put in a garden right away when I move in. Thanks for letting me know about the coffee grounds. I've got some perennials that I was going to plant here in Texas, but then we realized we were going to move, so I am going to try them out in Phoenix - asparagus, rhubarb, raspberries and blueberries. I have many bags of leaves I was wondering if I should bring with me. Are leaves hard to come by in Phoenix? I like to use them in the garden.
